Pavement Parking at Elm Grove

In September 2011 the council announced its intention to enforce pavement parking along Elm Grove, where double yellow line restrictions are in place.

Some members of the community were unhappy about this proposal, and the council delayed enforcement action for a three month period, to enable more detailed local discussion. Cllr Follett has initiated a working group which first met on October 20th. Minutes and notes of working group meetings are available under the ‘working group minutes’ tab above.

The conclusion of this excercise was that Cllr Follett requested that the council undertook consultation on an improved streetscape which considered opportunities to legitimise parking where possible and to look at other aspects including benches, street planting and provision for cyclists and pedestrians.

This consultation was initiated in early 2013 – for more information look HERE. As the results are released, this page will be updated.
